Seminar held

Symposium was held under the banner of the Botanical Society of Bengal, at the Bose Institute, Calcutta on December 10, 1949 on the aspects of "Food and People" under the Presidentship of Dr. K. P. Biswas. Hon'ble Sri Prafulla Chandra Sen, Minister of Food and Agriculture, Government of West Bengal, inaugurated the symposium.

Diamond Jubilee Celebration (19 35 1995) was held on 11/12 April 1995, Organized by National Botanical Society, under the Presidentship of Late Dr. R. P. Purkayastha. The theme of the symposium was "National Seminar on Recent Advances in Plant Sciences."

A one day National Seminar in two sessions on Angiospermic Taxonomy was held on 9th January 2010, to pay tribute to Late Dr. Sushil Kumar Mukherjee, Botanical Survey of India.

The Society celebrated Platinum Jubilee in the month of November 2011 in a befitting manner.
