To promote the cause of Botany and safeguard the interests of Botanists in Bengal. |

To hold periodical meetings in Calcutta as well as in other parts of Bengal with a view to diffuse botanical knowledge among the public and facilitate mutual intercourse among members. |

To encourage original investigations. |
d) |
To arrange periodical excursions to different parts of Bengal for the study of its vegetation. |
e) |
To arrange for the preparation of local floras, maps, monographs, etc. |
f) |
To arrange for the publication of its proceedings. |
g) |
To co operate with the Indian Botanical Society and Societies of a similar nature in other parts of India for purposes of common interest, and |
h) |
To do and perform all other acts, matters and things that may assist in, be conducive to or necessary for the fulfilment of the objectives of the Society. |
